"Nice Hotel - but missing some basics"
October, 2018
First of all - This hotel was sold out on every other website and direct, so a BIG thanks for Reserve Orlando. The good: friendly staff, cute themeing, good free breakfast, includes premium parking for the park. The bad: the pool closes in the middle of the day 12-4pm and no daily housekeeping service with minimum stays. We would stay again when we visit Legoland because the price was a good value.

Tip: good breakfast, pool closes midday, free premium parking for legoland.

Tip: The conveniences of a hotel are lacking a bit at the beach retreat, but it was nothing that affected our trip in a negative way.

We stayed for 3 nights. Had a good time. Food was good. I recommend you order kids food quick because one night it took 45 minutes to get our food but we ordered the kids pizza with our drinks and it came out pretty quick. Resort is clean. Rooms are nice. Overall a good time.

Love this place! Cute cottages. Nice pool and excellent playground areas. Smores by firepit was nice on cold January nights. January was great bc no crowd. Kids loved Lego themed rooms with separate bunkbed area. Breakfast buffet was free and good. Other food prices are a little overpriced but you get free kids meal per paying adult. Of coure for the price of the adult entree you are still paying for it. Highly recommended for young kids.

"Beware the sharp corners on the headboard"

Overall this hotel was very clean. My kids were very excited to stay here and the theme didn't disappoint. They were really bummed that this hotel doesn't include the little lego set that the other one includes. I struggle to leave between 1 and 3 stars for this hotel and I'll start with the main reason I would never stay here again and if you have young children to be very careful of the short sharp cornered headboard above the king size bed. The first night we were there after a long day in the park we were all ready to rest before another day at Legoland by watching a movie. My young son went to put his head back on the pillow and whacked it right on that short headboard resulting in an inch and half long gash in the back of his head. Fortunately we were able to keep blood from getting all over the room but when we went to call the front desk our phone was broken and would not connect or something. We couldn't find the phone number anywhere in the room. Rushing we had to immediately get in the car to drive to the front ask for help on where the closest open urgent care was and they didn't know. We ended up taking him to the ER and luckily they knew of an open urgent care so we didn't need to spend a fortune on out of state insurance ER visit. It ended up needing 5 staples and us being out a couple hundred dollars. The worst part was they never ONE time checked back in with us to see if everything was okay. The housekeeper did see us one time when walking by to see how he was feeling but not one person from the front desk checked in. I mean maybe a line skip pass would have been a nice touch or something. He struggled the whole next day with a headache and waiting in line to ride the few super slow rides he could actually go on because of the staples. The phone never did get fixed, we ended up unplugging it because it just kept beeping bright all night long. Here are my pros/cons. Pros: clean, nice theme pool was heated (only actually worked one day though) free breakfast buffet (my daughter loved the bacon everything else was pretty below average) overall everyone was friendly Cons low sharp headboard obviously no free mini lego set lifeguards at the pool were more concerned with their conversation then watching pool pool heater only worked one day no coffeemaker or microwave in the room pancakes/french toast and potatoes were crunchy rocks the air conditioner/heater unit beeps super loud every time you make a change no-one called to let us know when our room was ready like they said they would phone didn't work Overall we were really excited about this hotel and everyone we encountered was friendly but the front desk staff needs some work. They are either too busy, don't care or undertrained. Whatever the reason it will hinder us from staying there again and I definitely would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

"LegoLand during December 2018 (thru New Year)"

the beach retreat was nice. We had a great time...during the day the pool (open until 9pm) is open and less crowded as a majority of folks are at the park.We liked the beach retreat because it gave us the feel of being near the water/beach. You are actually near a large lake, but you do not have access to the lake/water. The rooms were clean and the food was good. The breakfast buffet is really good and is included in the price of the lodging with Beach Retreat. All other meals it's typically you get a free kids meal with each adult meal. There is not much variety to the menu between lunch and dinner. The only drawback is the size of the room(s). When you walk in there is one large room (queen bed I think) along with mini-fridge, drawers, closet space and night stands. There is a smaller room where the bunk bed is for the kids. Also there is the bathroom. It's intimate and good for a few days stay....depending on how many folks are staying in the room. Also the room service only comes every other day to swap out towels, etc, unless you specifically call and request. We didn't even look at the hotel cost as we wanted to specifically stay somewhere a little different than a traditional hotel. You'll enjoy it! Let me know if you need additional info.

"Family-friendly resort"

We spent one night at the Legoland Beach Retreat (moms and kids). The Beach Retreat was much better priced as compared to the onsite Legoland hotel. It was across the street from Legoland, and included free parking at Legoland, so not a big deal to drive over. Pros: 1. The rooms are set up as duplexes, each room containing a separate alcove containing a bunk and trundle bed. The kids liked their own, separate area, including the lego-themed curtain and wall coverings. 2. There is a little playground in the middle of the duplexes, along with a large, grassy aras, which the kids could run around in. 3. The pool area is very nice, especially for the "under-12" age range. They have life guards, and provide life vests for the little ones. There are large, floating, lego blocks in the pool, which the kids loved. There is a large sand-beach play area attached also. There is no drink service at the pool, however you can walk right into the restaurant/bar right next door to purchase drinks and bring back out to the pool. 4. The attached restaurant is very family-friendly. They offer a free kids meal for every adult meal purchased. They also have a small, indoor entertainment/lego area, where the kids can play, and they offer periodic activities such as dance parties, character visits, etc. The breakfast buffet is included in the room price, and pretty good. You can also get "to-go" coffee in the morning to bring back to the room (nice for us early risers). Cons: 1. It is definitely geared to the "under-12" age range (which they clearly describe). Teenagers would most likely be bored. Legoland itself, has more rides, etc. geared towards this age. There are a couple of large roller coasters and fast rides, however that is about it for the teens. 2. Legoland is about 1 to 1 1/2 hours outside of the Orlando/Kissimmee park area. It is definitely not convenient to include as part of a "park-hopping" vacation. It was definitely worth the visit and the kids had a blast. Would recommend for a couple-day visit, especially if you have younger children.
